TWC employer tax notices and reporting disputes
Received TWC correspondence about your employer account, unemployment tax reporting or an assessment? We help business owners review financial and reporting records, identify the issue and determine whether the matter fits our services. Benefit-claim correspondence is assessed separately from employer tax matters.
Common TWC issues
Unemployment tax reporting
Wage-reporting discrepancies, employer account reconciliations and payment records. We identify the periods and records involved before defining the work.
Tax assessments and disputed calculations
Review of the financial records and calculations connected with an employer tax issue. A disagreement may require a separate agency process and appropriately authorized assistance.
Benefit-claim correspondence
Payroll and factual employment-record organization, subject to engagement scope. Benefit eligibility, contested hearings and employment-law questions are assessed separately and referred when outside our permitted role.
We can start with your notice type and deadline.
Tell us whether the correspondence concerns employer tax reporting, an assessment, an account discrepancy or a benefit claim. Include the notice date and response deadline, without confidential documents or personal identifiers.
Request a TWC Notice ReviewWhat happens after you contact us?
Identify the employer issue, TWC letter type, exact deadline, and records needed.
Assess whether the issue calls for financial-record review, tax work, employer documentation, legal counsel, or another specialist.
Where appropriate, agree on the work and fee before substantive services begin.
Employer tax notice questions
Is a TWC tax dispute the same as an unemployment-benefit appeal?
Not necessarily. TWC distinguishes certain employer tax disputes from disputes about an individual’s unemployment claim. The notice type and issue determine the relevant process. Do not assume that instructions for one kind of notice apply to another.
What records might be relevant?
Depending on the issue, relevant records may include payroll journals, wage reports, payment records, accounting ledgers and documents concerning payments to workers. We identify what is relevant after reviewing the matter and defining the engagement. Do not send employee identifiers or confidential employment records through the public form.
Will you handle my hearing or appeal?
Not automatically. We first determine whether the requested work is permitted and within the agreed engagement. Patel Tax Advisors is not a law firm and does not provide employment-law advice or court representation. Where additional authorization, credentials or legal services are needed, an appropriately qualified professional must be involved.
What should I put in the intake?
Provide the employer issue, notice title or general category, tax periods, response date and approximate amount involved. Do not include Social Security numbers, claimant identifiers or confidential documents. Submitting an enquiry does not establish an engagement.
